Urban land prices in Spain rose 5.2% year-on-year and rose in five of the last six quarters. If this trend consolidates, it is a matter of time that begins to be reflected in the final prices of housing. Price rises in the major cities and tourist areas most in demand is another factor. The price increase in Madrid and Barcelona is accelerating, with inter-annual increases of 5.1% and 8.2% respectively and uninterrupted increases during the last six quarters.
